Sexual Misconduct / Sexual Assault and Violence Initiative
The Sexual Assault and Violence Initiative strives to provide 性侵犯 and misconduct education, 意识建设, events and resources for all campus community members. 不正当的性行为 is defined as an unwelcome conduct of a sexual nature without consent and includes 性骚扰, 性敌对环境s and sexual violence.
性骚扰 is unwelcome conduct of a sexual nature, which can include unwelcome sexual advances, 性要求, 还有其他口头上的, nonverbal or physical conduct of a sexual nature, including 性侵犯 and other acts of sexual violence.
性骚扰造成了 性敌对环境 if the conduct is sufficiently serious that it denies or limits the ability to participate in or benefit from a University program.
性暴力 refers to physical sexual acts perpetrated against a person’s will or where a person is incapable of giving consent. A number of different acts fall into this category including rape, 性侵犯, 性电池, 性虐待, 以及性胁迫.

When a report is made to the Title IX Coordinator, OU provides a supportive environment for everyone involved to make sure each person knows the process and the resources available to them.
The Title IX Coordinator and 第九条副协调员 will guide all students involved in the complaint process, and help them navigate the resources available to them.
One concept that everyone needs to clearly understand is “consent”.
“Consent” is the affirmation of a conscious and freely made decision made by each person, especially to consent to sexual activity.
Consent to engage in sexual activity on one occasion is not consent to engage in sexual activity on another occasion.

Consent, once given, can also be withdrawn at any time.
When a person is under the influence of alcohol or drugs, or is experiencing mental or physical distress, then their conscious decision-making process may be impaired and their apparent consent may not be valid.
If coercion, intimidation, threats or physical force is used, then there is no consent.
